City Halls (Kouminkan)

List of City Halls (Kouminkan)

Thanks to Nicole (CIR PA 2011~2014), I can now present you with a list of local organisations and city halls (kouminkan) where JETs can look for clubs and activities to get involved in. Unfortunately they’re all in Japanese, but it might be a good chance to ask friends and coworkers for help in reading the Japanese and getting extra club and activity recommendations. 

In addition, all of the Kouminkan have rooms that can be rented out for a very small fee (some of them are under 200 yen for an hour), so if JETs have a few friends interested in the same thing then they can always try to get together people with the same hobby to start their own circle e.g. study group, music/singing group, sports group etc. Some of these institutions even have small gyms!
