This is an area that has been preserved since the Tenryo period. There are two main streets that run parallel, and are perfect for a stroll. Here you can find lots of older style buildings and shops. There is a sake brewery museum, traditional sweet shops, places to buy handmade geta, pottery, and other crafts and also a hina doll museum. You can also find local produce in the form of salad dressings, rice cakes, or even pear liqueur.
